On 7 May Los Músicos de Su Alteza inaugurate the events commemorating the 300th anniversary of the death of Sebastián Durón, with a concert in Brihuega (Guadalajara), the town where the famous composer was born in 1660. The event, which opens a cycle of concerts and activities organized by the city of Brihuega, will be preceded by a lecture of ofcomposer Jesús Villa Rojo and Antonio Martín Moreno, Professor of Musicology at the University of Granada, who since the seventies of the 20th century has recovered meny works of Durón. The concert, with a program that, under the title “Sebastián Durón and the European music of his time”, including some unpublished works by Durón and compositions by François Couperin, Marin Marais, Henry Purcell, Johann Kaspar Ferdinand Fischer, Georg Friedrich Händel and Johann Sebastian Bach, will take place in the Church of Santa Maria at 8:30 pm.
